About Us

WHEN THE SPECIAL EDUCATION PROCESS AND OUTDOOR GARDENS COME TOGETHER, THERE YOU WILL FIND ME–SO LET’S CHAT LITTLE ABOUT ME!

Drafting IEP’s and updating data collection with flair pens, drinking your preferred caffeine- at the semi-correct temperature-, finding the antecedent to a behavior and collaborating with teachers.

Yes, you can be a rockstar special education teacher without spending hours before and after school at your desk!

YOU’RE A SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER-NO MATTER YOUR EXPERIENCE LEVEL-

and you’ve got all the hats required for the demands of this job.

But do you ever just need a precise road map to help you navigate throughout the school year as a special education teacher and all the roadblocks that arise without spending tons of YOUR precious time caught up at night and on the week?

OH, YOU’RE IN JUST THE RIGHT SPOT, FRIEND!

THAT’S WHERE I COME IN.

I’m Dawn, and I create a focused curriculum and resources for special education teachers and who struggle to create individualized material for their student’s needs so you don’t have to spend numerous hours in frustration.

I also educate teachers who are ready to develop an outdoor classroom and school garden.

I help give teachers tools to be the best special education teacher so they can turn the frustrating obstacles of

  • planning
  • data collection
  • dealing with behaviors
  • holding meetings
  • collaborating with teachers

into a precise roadmap full of successful resources and strategies to be confident and be a leader in their schools (yes, that’s you!).

With 10 years of special education experience, an Educational Specialist degree, and published articles about data collection in special education, I have also been selected for district and state awards as a Distinguished Educator, my state’s District V Elementary Teacher of the Year, featured on Help For Special Educators Podcast, and published in College Student Journal.

Growing up, I always wanted to be an educator but I had no idea I would get to be

influencing and mentoring so many aspiring teachers, current educators, and even other professionals

outside the education world. I love learning and helping others -someone once told me that I was on a mission to get every certificate I can possibly get- and I can’t say they are wrong.

The best way to grow is to continue to learn and push to master new things.

When I am not teaching and creating,  you’ll most likely find me at the beach– (saltwater heals everything, right?), chasing after my little boy, or shopping for my next Rae Dunn obsession.

ARE YOU READY TO GROW TOGETHER? BECAUSE I AM!
